Corona fighters are working at the risk of their lives to save the people of the state from infection. Government hospital doctors, nurses, health workers, police, civic volunteers are providing tireless services throughout the day. This unequal fight against the deadly virus has also killed those fighters. In this situation, the state government stood by their families. From now on, if any Corona fighter dies in the state, one of his family members will be given a government job. The government will also provide financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh. The decision was announced by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee after a meeting of the state cabinet on Wednesday . So far 12 government employees in the state have died of corona. One member of each of their families will be given a job.

The Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also said that , ”  A lot of people who are working against Corona-Virus at the risk of their lives. We salute the them. A medal & certificate will be given in their honor. There are about 1,200 Corona fighters in the entire state. The certificates and medals were handed over to 415 people (268 policemen, 62 Govt employees, 30 doctors & 43 nurses, have contracted COVID-19 so far. 403 of them survived & unfortunately 12 died) from 13 districts.

Mamata added, ‘We will extend the test further. In that case the number of victims will increase a little. Don’t panic. Do not create artificial problems. Contact the health department in case of any difficulty. The government is planning where to go for the test and how to get admitted. A phone number will be provided very soon. ‘

On the other hand, 99% of the people affected by Hurricane Amphan have already received financial assistance, the chief minister said. He said that some mistakes have been made and they will be rectified soon. He has accused the BJP of politicizing the issue.

Even today, Mamata Banerjee has warned the district magistrates not to release DVC water in the rainy season. The cabinet meeting approved a project worth 2,600 crore rupees for infrastructure development in the state. Of this, 1,500 crore rupees will be borrowed from the World Bank on easy terms. In this sense, the government has a plan to take a program of small irrigation projects. Besides, flood control including road and canal repairs will cost 84 crore.
